When a home is designed the owner wants to do something extraordinary in the home to make it look different from the rest of the neighborhood. In this sequence, the one thing that can be given a twist in the form and design is the staircase. If you happen to be building a house, and it’s going to be higher than one floor, chances are that you’ll need to add a staircase into your interior design plans. What do you imagine when you hear the word “staircase”? Let me guess. You see this very basic staircase decor case that a 5-year-old would draw, right? But why not go beyond and make it according to the principles of modern architecture? To get your modern design juices flowing, we at Farbi-Tech want to show you unusual and creative staircase designs – build something similar in your home and business and navigate from one floor to another with style!
Straight Staircases
Straight and true, these aluminum staircases are what many people will think of when you mention stairs, both indoors and out. If you’re refurbishing a home, then it’s more than likely that the existing staircase will be straight. As hall spaces are often designed around the linear proportions of these stairs, it’s usually simplest to replace like for like.
Whilst straight stairs may not add as much dramatic flair as the more decorative spiral or helical options, they are somewhat easier to navigate when carrying heavy or cumbersome items to another level. And, with our range of fixtures and materials, we can still offer plenty of ‘wow factor’.
They may also be a good choice if you have young family members, as they are easier for children to climb. Just make sure to install proper safety measures on stairs if you have toddlers or other young children around (no matter what type of stairs you have).
Spiral Staircases
Spiral stairs offer several advantages over a straight stair. With their winding form, spiral staircases can instantly add character to any space. This can be a real advantage if you are trying to sell your home or let an office. We can customize everything from the color to the tread design and the materials, creating a one-of-a-kind focal point for the building. If you like the compact form but would prefer a more angular shape, then we also offer square spiral staircases which can be fitted tightly to walls
Beyond their arresting design, the other obvious advantage of a spiral staircase is space saving. Unlike the long footprint of a straight staircase, the base of a spiral staircase is remarkably compact. This makes them an ideal choice for situations where available space is thin on the ground – like loft conversions. If you are trying to fit more furniture for entertainment, lettable space for your office or living space in your home, a spiral staircase is a way to go.
Combination Staircases
These staircases are all about angles, more specifically a 90-degree turn near the base of the staircase. The subtle difference between the two options is that on the combination staircase, this turn is achieved with spiral threads, whilst on a kited staircase this turn is created with flat edge patterns following the wall line.
The turn not only adds some glamour to the staircases, but it can also provide a solution to restrictions on certain properties. As the length of the staircase is reduced in comparison to a straight staircase, they can be used to provide access to an upper room with a sloped ceiling.
Externally, they are also a common feature of older properties in areas such as London and Bath, providing access to a cellar via a front lightwell. We are frequently asked to design and manufacture staircases which match these period stylings, ensuring the design will meet with any conservation area restrictions.
At Fabri-Tech we offer simple, complex, modern, and elegant staircase options such as straight stairs, spiral, three-quarter turn, quarter turn, half turn, circular, curved, or a combination.
