NEW PULPIT FOR OUR SANCTUARY
On Sunday morning, October 17, 2010, we were honored to unveil a new pulpit made exclusively for Calvary Baptist Church. This pulpit was donated by Craig and Vicki Kennon in honor of Craig’s father, Jesse Craig Kennon. Reverend Jesse Kennon pastored for 35 years and went home to be with the Lord in 1992. The pulpit is uniquely design with three crosses to symbolize Calvary, and is made of Honduran mahogany wood. The pulpit was dedicated to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in memory of Jesse Craig Kennon.
DAYBREAK QUARTET IN CONCERT
Southern gospel recording artists, the Daybreak Quartet, will appear in concert December 5th at Calvary Baptist Church. The Atlanta-based group has songs on the nationwide radio charts and has received several awards including top honors from the National Quartet Convention Competition in 1998. The concert begins at 6:30 P.M. and is open to the public free of charge. A love offering will be taken. The Daybreak Quartet will perform songs from their latest album, "Not So Far Away," as well as sing a number of well-known southern gospel favorites--and will also take some time to perform requests from the audience in acapella four-part harmony.
