The reason that everyone is making such a big deal about texting and driving, is the statistics regarding texting and driving.

#1- 10% of all drivers under 20 years old, who were involved in fatal crashes, were thought to have been texting and driving at the time of the accident.

#2- 27% of the drivers who were involved in fatal accidents due to texting and driving were men and women in their 20’s.

#9- Teenage drivers are 4 times more likely to get into a crash or a near crash while texting and driving, than adults are.

#10- 46% of drivers under the age of 18 have admitted to texting while driving.

With the statistics regarding texting and driving being so serious, it is important that laws are being made to stop people from taking part in such dangerous behavior.
