Hormones portray a crucial role in regulating multiple bodily processes that have a downright impact on our overall well-being. Although most of us tend to think of the hormonal effects of these chemicals when it comes to reproduction processes.
As we age, levels of hormones begin to drop and causing various symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disorders, and memory loss. That is why it is important to keep your hormones back to a balanced level.
There are some treatments that practice hormone replacement, however, these traditional hormone therapy comes with side effects such as fatigue, bloating, irregular menstrual cycles, and others.
With the advancement of modern science, Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy or BHRT, a more natural solution has been introduced. This therapy uses hormones developed to reproduce the body’s natural hormones for a more natural, and reduced invasive hormone replacement solution.
What are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are artificially created or laboratory-produced hormones that have the same chemical structures as your natural hormones.
In traditional hormone therapy, the body finds it complicated to dispose of the excess hormones because of the chemical differences between the human-created hormones, and synthetic hormones.
This leads to having build-ups in the hormone levels that can induce a reaction from the body that results in the growth of risk of health issues over time.
But with bioidentical hormones, benefits you because when they are delivered to your body, your body processes them the same as your natural hormones, and eliminates them the same. The common hormones used in BHRT are progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone.
